Make a Senior Smile!

Volunteers sought for Garden City Make Senior Smile Day

Wayne County Commissioner Richard LeBlanc has posted a request for volunteers to help rake leaves for local Garden City senior citizens. The Westland Area Jaycees are meeting that request!

This event is happening on Nov. 8th. Starting at 8 am volunteers will receive a continental breakfast and T-Shirt at the Maplewood Center. You will also be provided with maps to the homes where we will go as teams to rake and bag leaves. When we are all done working we will return to the Maplewood Center at 12 pm for a pizza lunch!

Volunteers are responsible for bringing their own lawn care equipment. That includes rakes, gloves, masks and proper yard work attire. That means for us Westland Area Jaycee’s we hope to see your new shirts, hoodies and caps!
