We have reached out for our 2nd year to Mayor Randy Walker of Garden City to see if we can come back and paint some more hydrants! Last year we painted over 250 hydrants over 2 events and we are hoping to get 250 more this Spring! This is always a great event and we truly enjoy spending the day with such amazing community members and volunteers!

That’s where you or your group come in!

We are asking for your help! If you or your group would like to help us fulfill this need, please sign-up by visiting our website and following the links. If you are unable to signup online, you can contact April Hendryx by phone at the number below.

The city will be providing the supplies for painting. They are very excited to have all of our help for this event. It is our hope to keep this event going until all of the hydrants are bright red! This really is helpful for our Firefighters and makes their jobs easier and the Garden City community safer!

We will be providing a light breakfast (bagels, doughnuts, muffins), coffee and juice before we head out. Upon returning supplies and checking out we will have pizza and soda for lunch as well.

The Westland Area Jaycees are a local community organization involved in the cities of Garden City, Wayne, and Westland.

If you have any questions you can reach April Hendryx (Project Chair) in a few ways: Text: 734-469-0190, email: community@westlandareajaycees.org, FB Messenger: @april.hendryx

A huge thank you to the partnership with the Maplewood Community Center for this event!
