Its getting cooler outside, but its still nice. Could be a lot worse. I hope all of you are starting to feel the holiday spirit. I got my Star Shower up at the house, so my exterior decorations are complete and Im happy with the short amount of work it took.
I wanted to say again, Welcome to our NEW MEMBERS! We made it to 44! That is 100% Growth for the year! This is a huge accomplishment. We are continuing to set a good example of what a chapter can do in a short amount of time when they have such amazing people and programming. You guys rock! There is a New members Orientation this Sunday at Club Westy. Be sure to get with Chris Crawford or Amy Willingham for more details.
Even though it is the end of the year, we don’t ever seem to take any time off. Monday was our human Trafficking Community Awareness event and it was amazing to see so many residents on site to hear what Deena had to say. I found it concerning, but enlightening. This was something that we all need to not only learn about, but talk about. Creating awareness is one of the many things that we as Jaycees do. Be sure to talk to your friends more about this and if you can, dial them into WLND once they get it on the program rotation.
Last night was the Star Wars event. Many of the Westy hit the theater and watched the Force Awakens! No Spoilers here, but it was a great movie for all. Die Hard fans will enjoy it along with newbies. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll kiss 20 bucks goodbye. I do want to thank all of the Westy that did come out. I love it when our “family” rolls deep and takes over a place.
This Weekend is Breakfast with Santa at the Salvation Army. Please be there by 8AM to help setup and ge things going. DJ Campbell has been working hard on getting this traditional Wesltand Area Jaycee project going and Im always happy to see so many people come out for this. If you have any questions, call DJ or send him a message.
The Eventbrite Page is open for the Presidents Party. This is an event you truly want to attend. There will be Awards, guest speakers, recognition, dinner, drinks, and afterwards,.. dancing. The cost is $30 for the first adult $25 for each additional adult in your party. Non Drinking guests from 5 to 20 years of age are $15. This will be a formal event, so dust off your duds and check those shoes. We look forward to seeing everyone there! If you have any questions, Ask Linda Honey, Wendy Taylor, or Danny Austin.
For those that didn’t see it, Shane Dials WON his Comedy Competition at Joey’s comedy club on Wednesday. When you get a second, be sure to congratulate him. He is very talented and put in a lot of work on his program. Proud to say he is one of ours. We all like to laugh!
