The Westland Area Jaycees have partnered with the Coeus Creative Group to bring this training to our community organizations.
We all know people in our professional and personal lives that can make our existence a living hell. In many cases, they are unavoidable; they can be employees or superiors, teammates or antagonists, or sometimes family or friends. No matter how they are connected to you, you have to deal with them. This training explores some of the most common personality and communication-based conflict types and provides strategies to mitigate uncomfortable situations.

About Our Guest Speaker: Jay Johnson, Partner @ Coeus Creative Group, Master Trainer
Jay Johnson is a nationally renowned speaker, trainer and coach specializing in communication and leadership development. With a unique perspective on human behavior, coupled with an approach that places behavioral intelligence at the forefront of all of his training, he has earned the respect of his clients and colleagues alike. Jay’s diverse client list includes organizations such as the United Way, Consumers Energy, the United State Junior Chamber, U of M Hospital, the Detroit Chamber of Commerce, AmeriCorps, and State Farm. From keynotes to workshops, Jay has traveled across North and South America developing talent, from entry level employees to executive management. Jay is a designated Master Trainer through the Association for Talent Development (ATD), and is a two-time Excellence in Training Award recipient from the National Association of Professional Communication Consultants. Jay holds a Lecturer position at Wayne State University, and teaches Communication in the prestigious Ford Motor Company Engineering Management Master’s Program.Jay draws on the knowledge gained from his significant experience in leadership roles, and working with people. As a founding partner of Worldlink Communications, and most recently Coeus Creative Group, he has built profitable companies from the ground up. He has served as a local community leader through the Redford Junior Chamber. Through his vision for a sustainable community, he helped launch programs such as a community garden, a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and a nonprofit aimed at neighborhood stabilization (C.A.R.E., Community Action Revitalization Efforts). He has also held state level positions in the Michigan Junior Chamber, serving two years as the Corporate and Government Relations Director, and eventually becoming the organization’s 90th State President. In 2012, Jay was elected to serve as a Trustee for the Redford Township government and helped to implement efficiencies to improve services and reduce costs to residents. Jay has lobbied in Lansing and Washington, D.C. on issues such as charitable gaming, medical research programs, education, and sustainability. His experience in working with corporate executives as well as legislators has provided him with a unique understanding of communications at the highest levels of business, nonprofit, and municipal environments.
