Final Westy Weekly of 2017

Happy Holidays Westy!

I can’t believe that this is my last Westy Weekly as your President. It really has been an amazing year. We have run 61 projects/events!! Holy Toledo were we busy. As I have been working on the year-end paperwork I have had the opportunity to look at the list of amazing projects. Roberts Rules was the first project of the year. It seems like that was just yesterday. I love that I have had the chance to meet some really wonderful people this year as President. I could never have imagined the experiences that I have had the chance to have by stepping into this leadership role.

This last Weekly is filled with the last of our projects from the year. We had a busy Christmas season, that is part of the reason it has been a few weeks since the last email. The Jayteens alongside Eric Stoddard and a busy committee ran a new project called Santa Spectacular. The kids were ROCK STARS! The young people related to our members encompass so much Jaycee pride that it is contagious.

Emily Dreyer put together with her committee a unique twist to our past Christmas project. After much discussion, the board decided to run a project for the elderly population. Emily ran the Senior Christmas Brunch where the senior citizens at a local nursing home had a wonderful lunch created by Chef Tony, a visit from “Elvis” and a gift for each resident.

Then the Westland Area Jaycees provided a Christmas dinner to the local Westland Police Department for those officers working Christmas day.

Lastly, please remember to get your ticket to celebrate the 2017 year on our webpage at Even if you are not a member or just joined, this is a really fun evening spending time with everyone in the chapter.

Thank you again for supporting Team 60 this year as we worked together to be successful. And that we were!!!!

Sincerely Thankful,
Your 60th President
Rebecca Markonni
